New pads??

What's the current recommendations for replacement pads in a standard 4 pot set up?
Just need them for normal daily road wear rather than hammering on the track but anything that will improve performance / feel over the OEM ones would be good.

Mintex 1155 - c£50 (comp sepc)
EBC - 'cheaper' (road spec)
Warning - from experiance EBC pads might be great, but two weeks after receiving pads which bore no resemblance to that which they were supposed to be, I am still waiting for an answer!!!

Mike.
I believe you're getting confused...EBC's have no dust.
Gary.
Depends where you buy them from I suppose.
Did you get them direct from EBC then?
EBC Greens are great for road use, mine lasted 12,000 miles, but they cannot be used on any track or airfield days.
Mintex 1155's are also a good all-round pad though.

concerning the dust that's the reason why I run on P1 wheels;
I can only judge the Ferodos. Honestly I haven't done track days with them but on the other hands driving hard through our mountains downhills with short straits (still getting enough speed especially with a modified Scooby) they never faided. The hotter the better the pedal feel.
Also when I had to do an emergency brake from 220 to 100 km/h some weeks ago on a German autobahn they provided a very good performance.
Maybe that doesn't justify the huge premium on ECB. Have to try them first (if they're available over here)

I have just ordered some EBC Greens off the shelf from ABP Motosport near Crewe. £45 for fronts.
GaryC...depending on your model year there are two styles of pad, according to ABP, the early pad has a notch to locate in the caliper and the later version has a lug.
Maybe you got the wrong ones

Hi
Just to even up the balance a bit here's my experience of EBC Greenstuff
I used them for a while on my MY98 2 pot brakes on disc that had done 15k miles so may have been past their best.
They were good for moderate use but didn't give a consistant feel and hence much confidence when used hard.
Hard use would also cover the wheels in dust as quickly as the standard pads although in normal use they were almost dust free ,they were also half worn in 4k miles, the standard pads lasted about 15k miles.
They seem to have a fairly low temp rating and if you exceeded it they wear very quickly, which I guess is true of any brake pads.

Stef, why can't the EBC greens be used on track? Do you have 4 pots on your car? I drive fairly rapidly on the road and tend to work the brakes hard occasionally on back roads.

Iain.
Green's just dissolve on track.
I used them at Cadwell on my original two-pots and lasted half the day .
EBC advise not to use them on track for this reason. That is why they produce Red and Yellow, not Pink but Green, not Orange, or Purple or Blue (though Pagid make these!) .
Use them on track at your peril.

I agree with Mike!
I could drive his brake setup and I have to say that the DS2000 give an excellent brake feeling......
I could never try EBC greens so cannot comment about them......just, they are very cheap!

P.
P.S. I was lucky I was exiting the hairpin.
