Question Brake pads

Can someone tell me if the brake pads front and rear are the same in the MY 99 WRX and the 2000 (UK models)?.

If the MY99 WRX uses 4-pots (ones with SUBARU on them), then yes. Not sure about the rears. I think the STI uses 2-pot rears (so they wouldn't) and there's two different style of rear pad for the single-pot sliding caliper. One has lugs, the other doesn't.

Maybe Greasemonkey, Stockcar or Ian Godney can say yes or no for definite.

Mine has the 4 pot front and the 2 pot rear (MY 99 UK model). Was going to order the ferodo ds2500 pads from america. They only have the 99 WRX ones though.(uk spec) Grease monkey do you know?

Yes they should be the same , ask them to email you a pic to be on the safe side , the US spec cars could have 2 pots so make sure you getting the right ones

Are you sure the 2000 UK model has 2-pots?

Do your rear calipers look like this?

The bug eye model onwards did have 2 pots rear calipers, all the classic models except the type R had single piston rears

That's what I thought. So, Trance should have the single-pot sliding caliper like mine (pic) if his car is a MY99/00 UK Turbo.

Yeah ozzy you are right mate, as the picture above. Sorry i thought they were 2 pot on the rear.
