Question

Does anyone know anything about anti kerbing tyres?. Keep kerbing my Speedline ST2's and have been told that some manufacturers sell anti kerbing variants of their tyres. If this is so, does anyone know whether Pirelli do an anti kerbing version of the P-Zero?.

Cool

The Toyo T1S (16" at least) has a nice thick sidewall that would help protect the wheels.

Just to save confusion, this post was not by me!!

I plan on keeping my SS/MIM's as 17"ers!!

Although the Bridgstone SO-2 PP's (215/40 R17) on the car at the moment, do have anti-kerb bit's of rubber on them!

Ian,

Have a look round the edge of your tyre, which meets the rim.

There should be a pronounced lip on the rubber, which over hangs the edge of rim slightly!

That apparently is meant to stop the wheel from being kerbed!!!

The Anti Curbing tyres in our household are attached to the wife's Shogun !!!

Pity she can not remember that when she's driving the Scooby !!! Front left is always taking a hammering

lol!!

I must admit, I had to avoid a badly driven Volvo in the old car.

I hit the kerb, but didn't scratch the wheel. It did strip off a fair amount of the anti-kerb lip on the Dunlops though!!!

Although a wheel can be refurbished for about £50, how much is a new tyre????

Tang, the SO2's ag P zero??, I believe the outcome was that the SO2's performed better in the wet and the P zeros won it in the dry.

I run 17inch SO2's and won't think twice when it comes to replace them.Top tyres in my book.
