17" Sparco Tarmac and Michelin 205 45 17
#1
Hi,I need some advice.
I posted something about 17s being a waste of $ in my opinion after a test drive, as they seemed to increase tramlining, reduce steering feel, and increase unsprung weight.
I have however found a possible "best of both worlds": 17x7 Cospa sp-II (similar to Sparco Tarmac) apparently only weight 2kg each over original 16" wheels, and I have found Michelins in size 205/45/17, which would not induce tramlining nor loss of feel commonly due to the increased size of 215s.
Question is, mine would have to be ordered in and I have never seen a Subaru with these wheels. I know they have 6 spokes split in half, and they are gold.
Anyone with a picture? And are the Michelins any good?
Thanks.

PS I'm in Australia so no, I can't buy the usual (quite light) OZ as here there is a 2 month wait and $800 each!!! (Cospa are $400 each, still very expensive but a little more sane)

What offset are the wheels ? check they will fit over your brakes.
I don't get tramlining with my 215s
The turn in has improved a massively. Maybe this is very dependant on the tyre selection?
The difference between a 215 and 205 is pretty minimal anyway.
My old Fiat used to tramline with Pzero asymetricos(sp?) in 205 I get much less with the Scoob
