Done over 190.000 km with old-style non-vented rear discs and last 20 k Trackdays only....
Rear discs last very very long ....don't let them pull your leg and get second opinion !
Unless you just want to upgrade anyway

No you dont have to change the rears , but if you are upgrading the fronts the balance wont be as it should be by doing so .
For an example our prices are
Front 294mm discs £175 a pair
Rear 266mm vented £145 a pair
Front and rear Mintex M1144 pads £85 a set( aset being either front or rear not both )
Front and rear Ferodo DS2500 pads £130 a set
Rear kevlar pads £35 a set
Delivery £10
Cheers Ian

Just fitted new non-genuine new pads and discs, (made by blue somethink..? all in for £80) to an STI V4, hence 4 pot calipers, the brakes are GARBAGE!!!
ANY HELP PLEASE?
The pedal has a nice feel, but a bit of late braking into a roundabout and they fade to sh*t. Far too dangerous, and this is on the road, let alone the track.

Ian Godney is Godspeed. No association with him at all, but he certainly knows about brakes, and can, I think, supply you with just about anything from the basic stuff to seriously exotic, to custom-made. Seems to have become a bit of a Subaru expert, and makes his own upgraded kits that work very well and excellent value.
Joff, I think Ian is being kind. I think you've bought some cheap (ie crap) brakes.
Stockcar is another supplier who knows brakes and knows Scoobs.
Brakes are an obviously important safety thing, but having experienced various upgrades from stock to top-of-the-range AP Racing kit, I can honestly say that my upgraded brakes are the best feature of my car. The staggeringly massive power and control is amazing and, when pushed hard, just as much pleasure as my increased bhp
Richard.
PS If you're going for a big-brake upgrade, perhaps with track days in mind, take advice on front/rear balance and seriously consider uprated suspension, too.
