Having read plenty of threads about tyres I am unsure of what to go for on MY98 Turbo Wagon, F1's and Toyo's seem to be the favourites but most of the retailers I have spoken to suggest S03's, want a good mix of decent grip but with some durability also, looking for them to last over 12000 miles which is 2 years for me, based upon 75% steady driving (with family) 25% not so steady.

These are the prices I have got, what would you pick???

All 205/50/16

Toyo Proxes £ 85.00 each
Goodyear F1 £ 90.00 each
Bridgestone SO3 £ 95.00 each
Michelin Pilot Primacy £ 105.00 each
Pirelli P Zero Nero £ 95.00 each
Avon ZZ3 £ 80.00 each
Pirelli P 6000 £ 85.00 each

All prices are all inclusive of VAT, balancing etc

Your help would be much appreciated, have only had the car 3 months and have Dunlops on but they are the wrong size anyway (205/55/16) so don't really know which way to go.

Cheers

Had 4 F1's fitted on the weekend for £377 (inc vat) that also included tyre insurance for a year. Not bad.....

The SO3s are notorious for tramlining. Not a bad tyre, pretty good in fact, but you'll find the tramlining thing really annoying.

I'd go for the F1s. Just make sure you run them at the right pressure as they have fairly soft sidewalls.

Never tried the others but I'm VERY happy with the Toyo's.

MJN 555 - Cant give you a definitive answer as I've only ever run the SO3s on 16"s. Have run both Toyo and F1s on 17"s.

Try starting with 33/31 front/rear and see what you think. Maybe go up as far as 35/33 and see how it compares.
