In this weeks AutoExpress they test the most popular 16-inchers - the F1's (GS-D3) are the overall winner and guess wots last - Bridgestone Potenzas, poor performance in the wet apparently !!

Question

Did they mention the pressures used?

Found that the Goodyear's need a few extra psi over my old S02s to get positive turn-in due to the soft side walls.

All they say is "Air pressures were monitored at regular intervals to ensure consistency...". One assumes that the tyres were tested at similar pressures. Funnily enough though the Bridgestone came top in the dry handling test, with the Eagles not far behind though. Where the RE040's really lost out though is in the wet, with the Eagles far superior on the cornering, aquaplaning and braking. In the wet braking test from 62mph the Bridgestone was a whole 7m behind the best performer

I couldn't stand the F1s in 16 inch. Felt like my rear shocks had gone - joletd and lurched dangerously due to the flexible sidewalls. Back to rude health now its back on Pirellis.

Bit of a crap test if they were testing the top notch goodyear F1 against a crappy Bridgestone RE040 surely they should have used the S03PP???

Currymonster is however, the only person in the whole wide world not to like the F1's

Maybe your rear shocks had gone

Daz, from memory I think the crappy Bridgestones cost more than the top-notch F1's. The test compared the most popular tyres.
