Exclamation

Hi

Recently purchased a RB5 which now requires tyres all round, currently running on PZero's 205 45 17's. Have been reading people's views on what is the best tyre on here.

I have spoken to my local garage which is AP Tyres in Rotherham, they are saying that they can't get Goodyears or Toyo's in this size but 215 40 17's will fit onto my alloys without any problems. As I have never heard of this, his he just trying to get a sale or can this be done?

He has quoted me the following prices for all 4 tyres:
Goodyear F1 GSD03 - £420
Toyo Proxes T1's - £320
Both prices include VAT and fitting.

Any advice would be most welcome.

Cheers

There are not many choices available in the 205/45/17 - Pirelli, Dunlop, Yokohama do some.

So, yes lots of people fit the 205/40/17 for more choice. Presumably your speedometer will very slightly overread but there are no other problems.

215/40 is the more popular size. Toyos look good at that price.
