David, thought you had the twin pot rears with ventilated disks??
Might be wrong, mine are just sliding caliper with sold disk IIRC, hardly ever look at the rears, must go check them

What do you mean brake balance is way out? Too much brakes on the back or too little? Is it a heat problem ie only appears after a few laps hard braking or is it there all the time?
I worried about this before I uprated the fronts. Then someone posted a link pointing out that the more brakes you put on the front the more forward weight transfer you get so the less load you get on the rears. So really you should derate the rears not uprate them.
Of course if you want to uprate them for the looks to match the fronts then that's a different issue....

It ain't for cosmetics - I want more brake power at the back end. Others who have done this have had a more balanced car under braking.
If you have ever seen my car - you will realise cosmetics is the last thing on my list!

You may want to just try some very keen pads on the rear, Andy F uses some Ferodo DS3000 on the rear and he seemed to think it pulled the balance right back.
I would go for some Grooved discs and Pagid RS-15 (grey) pads for a start. Although the Godspeed kit looks good also.

Pavlo,
I use DS3000s on the rear as well - interesting with these pads on it eats them like fury compared to the original STi pad!!!!
It sounds like I can get twin caliper rears as a Subaru OEM part - anyone done this - know where I can get them from...
...or is it only Bug-eye/Blob-eye Stis that have them?
And would they fit a classic with handbrake etc?

So you already use aggressive pads on the rear. Are you sure you're not getting TOO MUCH braking on the rear, seeing as for the same pedal pressure, you're rear is now further unweighted compared to normal brakes?
If you're lowering the car in the near future, especially with uprated springs, eibachs perhaps, you might find better control under braking anyway.
How is the balance problem manifesting itself?
