Thumbs up

I've got the 205/55 VR15 on my car. Very pleased with them. Excellent grip wet and dry, wear well too. Probably done 20,000 miles on them, including three trips to the 'ring and have another 5-10 thousand miles left in them. I payed £55 each including fitting from Tyres Northampton.

So how good are these compared to Proxes or F1s?

This is the reply I got from someone that sells them I have found F1 GDS-2's for £77 each and these for £58.50 not sure what to go for ?

John,

In general terms, we find the Ecsta 712 gets no negative reaction from our customers, simply because it has no very bad habits. To be fair, we also don't get people raving about its exceptional grip etc but I think that is because it is a good 'compromise' tyre. Wear performance is good and they beat the Bridgestones in 'cost per mile' terms hands down.

Hope this helps.

Please call us on 01280 817111 if you'd like to order some!

Best regards,

I asked about these tyres on here before i bought my F1's and was scared off by a few comments about them and how you should spend as much as you can on your tyres. Well, i spent nearly £400 on the f1's and hate them. I wished i saved myself £170 and got the Kuhmos even if i did end up hating them, at least i could have spent the £170 on a track day and melted them!

Friend of mine bought a set of these a few months back for his MY00 Turbo. Used them on both road and track and to be fair they were very good, wear rate wasn't high at all and he did at least 3 trackdays on them. Can't comment on overall life though because some light fingered git robbed the car before they wore out. Certainly when put back to back round Donington with my own MY00 on Pzero's, there was very little in it. I'm considering a set myself now the Pzero's are nearly worn out.

Definitely worth a go IMO.

HTH

Mike.

I'm sold on the Kumho's will be ordering a set in a couple of weeks and will report back as long as they don't tram like the standard Bridgestone I will be happy !! I need to get tracking done on car near side tyres (front & rear)have worn evenly and drives side has torn out the inside (front & rear)?? anyone else had this ?? I've asked before but can anyone tell me where you can get geometry done properly in East Anglia ??
