Did they say how long to deliver, and also how much would a garage charge to fit & balance them? some places may be funny if your not getting tyres from them?

Thanks for that, just ordered a set of 215/45 ZR 17 for £213.60 seems a good place for my Crossroad's refund to be at the moment...

Cheers

They do two Toyo Proxies in my size

225/45 ZR17 94W RF Rim-protection
225/45 ZR17 91W Rim-protection

Anyone know the difference? These prices seem too good to be true. Phoned round today and the cheapest I got locally was 105 pound/corner. This place is selling them for 55.10.

Reason I'm looking is my fronts seem to have worn more on the inside edge. Anyone know why? Rest of the tyre is OK, but inside groove is well worn. I had the alighntment etch checked an all OK, but couldn;t bring myself to cough up the money for 4 wheel TSL stle geometry whatsit.

PS - How long before we get moved to wheels & tyres tech forum he he

Danny, is W rating higher than Z, as I always though that Z was the highest rated(or are W and Z the same)

Just doen a search on 225/45/17. Toyo £55.10

But heres the best bit - budget is £73.80 and economy is £76.10

Reverse logic or what. Either that or they're buying Toyos by the ship load

Are these tyres any good compared to Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD-3's??

I am looking to replace my standard 15" tyres on my S2 RST so I can use them for daily use as I dont like the drivability of the car on the 17's at the moment, it looks good but prefer the steering feel on the standard wheels...

Cheers,
Grant

Cool

Well, I was going to buy some Goodyears, but for this money sod that!

The Toyo's have always been my second choice should I fail to get S02's in the past...they're not quite as good as the S02 or the GSD3 F1 INHO, but for 200 quid a set I'm laughing!

Just to clear up a few things. W is not the speed rating. The tyre size 215/40/ZR17 83W breaks down to the following:

215 = Width in mm of the tyre
40 = Profile of tyre from edge of wheel to edge of tyre, expressed as a percentage of width i.e. 40% of 215mm
ZR = Speed Rating IIRC ZR is the new 150mph +
17 = Wheel Diameter in inches i.e. 17 inch
83W = load index

Bear in mind that for 215/40/17's (the size used on classic impreza's) Subaru supply a load index of 88W (Pirellis normally). The Toyos arent quite as strong so arent a direct replacement. There was a thread a while back that came to the conclusion that using different tyres with weaker load indexes could run the risk of your insurance being void should they go pop. Doesnt stop me using Toyos but is something you should all be aware of.

Yes it is, but only with a full load hence the 2 numbers before.
Y - The speed symbol, i.e. the maximum sustainable speed for the tyre at the load capacity given - in this case 186.4mph

I stand corrected. Strange how no mention about the speed rating (ZR) on that example. Why would you have 2 speed ratings - 1 of ZR and one of Y?

Where have the Toyo's gone?

I did a search yesterday for 225/45/17s and they were £55.

Just looked again this morning and they have dissappeared!! I was going to order them as well.
