I have just had two new tyres fitted to 18" O.Z/Prodrive wheels, the guy who said he could fit them no probs has made a right mess of my rims. They are both deeply scuffed around the face of the rim and there is a chip out of both rims. Needless to say im pissed off, i mean if the guy didnt feel comfy doing them he should have said and i would have took them else where, or he could have phoned me after making a mess of the first rim instead of carrying on and making a mess of the second!!
He also glued the balancing weights on the face of the rim, and didnt remove the old weights prior to rebalancing them too!!!!!!
Has anyone had anything similar and what are my options as i dont think chinning the guy will help (although i was close)
Im going to take pictures of what he has done and see my solicitor but wondered if anyone has tried to claim for something like this and how they got on.
Cheers, XXX
Edited to add: Is it possible to get the stickers for these rims as they have been scuffed off.

This happened to me 7 years ago so i never paid for the tyres.
Changing tyres without scuffing the rim is easy with a little care.
I've just had mine done and they have yellow writing around the rim and there wasn't a mark, so it can be done.

Trouble is i got the tyres from mytyres.com and looked for someone local who was confident doing the job.
I agree it can be done if the right care is taken but he musnt have been arsed what he did.
He said that he did his best! To which i replied that his best was obviously not very good and that he had said he could have done it without marking them.
Just been looking on Wicked Wheels refurb site, has anyone any experience of these as they have a guy fairly local to me.

Morning Tripple X,
Glad it wasn't my mates depo
If you want, I'll ask my mates if I can nick a little bit of the stuff they use for cleaning alloys prior to sticking weights on. It gets most marks / sticky stuff off.
I have a couple of mates who also refurb wheels ( not the same company I told you about), They are close to work (10 min drive), so if you want to nip out at lunch, I'll call over with you for a estimate / advise.
Give me a call if any use -(66521 internal)

No problems - have a good week off
At least you picked the right week for the weather
If you want to get the wheels looked at before next week, give me a call at work, and I'll give you the number and directions to the place.
It's in Gt Harwood by the way.
