Question

Hello All,

Just thought I'd check with people here. I'm running 205/50/R16 tyres on my Legacy at the mo, but some 205/55/R16's are available.

I'm assuming that the extra 5mm of sidewall won't make much difference? There seems to be plenty of room in the wheel arch, and the suspension is completely standard.

Is there anything to be wary of in fitting slightly different sized wheels? (I'll be changing all 4, just in case you were wondering!).

Cheers

Steven

According to Toyo website 205/50/16 have rolling diam of 612 mm whereas 205/55/16 have rolling diam of 633mm.

Note that the 50 and 55 are the profile, not a measurement in mm.

Speedo reading and gearing will be affected slightly and I guess you could possibly get rubbing.

I'm a big believer in buying the right size of tyres for the car - depends how cheap they are I suppose

Cheers,

Ian.
