P1 Brake upgrade ideas?
#6
What are the prices of any of these different options and are they noticeably better than the standard Subaru brakes? The P1 has fantastic power but sometimes I feel it should stop a little better!

Probably the best brakes are AP 6 pots - £1670 @ http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk
Definately what I'd be looking at for an upgrade on my P1...

you can also look at the KAD/Scoobysport setup.. uses the same AP racing discs as the AP 6 pots, but with a special 6 pot caliper designed/created by KAD, its lighter than the equivalent AP one..
I had this setup on my p1, and was more than impressed with the stopping power, once gently bed in..
Make sure you also get the stainless steel Goodridge hoses..allround..
checkout Scoobysport
and KAD KAD
no links with the above companies..other than being a geninue satisfied customer..
Also check out the scoobynet online shop..as you'll be able to get a discount on the above!!!

Timmo,
cost me around £1800 I think..had it done back in october last year, fitting was another £100 ontop, all carried out by Pete and the team at Scoobysport in essex. Seem to recall it took half a day.. (if you check the scoobyshop online, the price is certainly cheaper than that now!)
good thing about these and the AP kits, over the "official" prodrive/alcon ones, is that the discs and/or pads can be replaced relatively cheaply compared to the alcons.. (plus the alcons are only 4 pots, compared to KAD/Scoobysport 6 pots.. plus the gurrantee covers trackdays
checkout the scoobysport site..
[As again..no connection with scoobysport, other than a satisfied customer]
cheers
Forgot to add, I went for the 330mm size discs, although they do 378mm aswell.. which fill up the gaps nicely!
