Reality check guys.... both excellent tyres and unless your Richard feckin Burns its unlikely you'll dislike either...

"Country mile" ? Country Mile my ****!!!

The EVO test liked the Goodyear over the Toyo - so i guess as they tested them a lot (unlike these wannabees above ) i'd go with that!

As F1's are £44 more expencive than Toyo's ill go for Toyo's, that will save me £176 a set of 4 ....Prices from the above link.

Unhappy

Got to agree with SiPie on this one. I've just switched from F1's to Toyo's and I'll not be sticking with them.

Dry grip is on par, but wet grip is a nightmare in the Toyo's. I've lost a lot of confidence in the car with them. Even though it's over 20K miles since I had my original Pirelli P-Zero's I don't remember them being as bad.

It's so bad, I've asked my Dealer to check the springs/dampers just in case it's something more serious when it's in for it's service next week.

Question

Stefan

Don't know if yours was a similar case but I'll admit to being initially impressed with the Toyos in the wet but by the time they were reasonably worn in the grip just seemed to tail off and I too was left with the nervous charecteristics that your car also seems to be displaying?

Who knows

Well, all I can say is I had more confidence with well-worn (14K) F1's than I do with 1.5K Toyo's. I approach a corner and it's in the hands of the God's how the car's going to react once I turn-in. Throw in a nice damp corner and it's Sphincter-cleanching to say the least.

I'm praying for a dry summer

seen them here

toyo tyres are £77.56 a corner delivered and the goodyear are £79.56 a corner delivered, there is nothing in it price wise just ive already put a set of new tyres on i dislike after doing about 1000miles and i want to make the next choice count as i dont want to have to pull them off again as it gets quite expensive

I gotta agree with Sipie&Ozzy on this one, i had Toyo T1s
fitted last week 205/50/16s. i find cornering stability
suspect to say the least, more like scary if you ask me!MY98
scoob seems to want to roll off the rims, my 12500k bridgestones
were stable and could be ripped through tight corners with
confidence.I would'nt try it on these, i am not impressed with
them at all.it seems to me the sidewalls are not as firm as
the bridgestones and i get a rear end roll feeling, like Ozzy
im thinking about getting springs/dampers checked,but i can't
see this been problem, only differance on the car is the tyres
so in my book they are the culprit.
Dont think i will keep them long, might sell them with wheels
as i want to upgrade to 17s anyway
Ozzy/Sipie id welcome feedback on wether you two get the rear
end roll feel, reminds me of my 1st car the dreaded "MARINA"
Doh showing my age there!!!

Cool

Cant comment on toyos rolling more or wotever since when i put em on they rolled considerably less but this is due 2 them being on 17" & now 18" rims so u wont get any roll on bigger rims just a nice sweet turn in unless it is sumin else
Toyos r great
Si
PS getting new tyres is a great excuse 2 upgrade wheels n all in my opinion

Scooby-si
thanks for the info m8,got to agree with you on changing up
to 17s with tyres missed out there...doh
anyway im about to take it for geometry check(in next 5minutes)
if that dont improve things im selling em with wheels and
going to 17s, perhaps should of done that in 1st place.i just
dont like the slack-assed feel at the rear, does'nt inspire
confidence!
anyway ill post on results of geometry test etc
laters

i havent had the geometry done on the car since fitting the new 17s could this be why i think the tyres are to blame

Stevebt most people fit either 205/45/17's which are the standard size or 215/40/17's which are close enough.
The prices youve linked to are for 215/40/17's the price for the 205/40/17's is £112.46 each where as Toyo's can be bought for alot less.
Im not saying F1's arnt better but they are more expencive than the Toyo's in the correct size.

Andy

I've had both Goodyear F1s and Toyos. The F1s 16" were better in the wet than 18" Toyos.
