thanks for the advice but would anyone care to elaberate on the ds2000, according to ferodo, the ds2000 are fast road use pads, hard enough for decent wear and longevity but soft enough so as not to knacker the disc, ........... but i aint never had em so would appreciate any views..

the ds2500 is a much newer compound and designed specifically for fast road use, similiar to Pagid rs4.2.1 but that's another story!!......there have been a number of problems with wear rates, etc. (allegedley, ask prodrive!) with ds2000 and hence i think you will find that most (including ourselves) no longer recomend this pad for primarily road use........
ds2500 is in my opinion a better all round pad anyway!!
alyn - as performance

Worn the group N discs out already paul, must be too much power in my old green machine now.
Ive been using DS2500 on the new car and can only say they seem to be as good as the Padgid pads where with a lot less dust down the side of the car on the paint work and on the wheels.
Must catch up and see how she looks now you have finished the paintwork

I've run DS2000 in both front and rear. They are a very good road pad (DS4003 is very similar, so Mr Ferodo told me) and up to a bit of track work but they do wear a bit when pushed, but then they all do.
I now use DS2500 which seems to be just as good as a road pad but takes to the track better. Better than Pagid RS421 in my view - needs less pedal pressure - and cheaper. Excellent Got them back and front now with AP 6-pots and stock rear disks/calipers (UK00).
Richard.
