I'm stripping the silver paint off the OEM MY99 wheels (So I can spray them gold), but having a tough time doing it.

I'm using Hammerite metal paint remover - problem is that the curvature and groove of the alloys make it very difficult to use a scraper - I've tried a wire brush on the end of a drill and thats just as difficult - any ideas??

Find someone who will sand/shot blast them. Very cheap from what i understand.

getting quotes of around £40 per wheel, which is dumb.

there is an acid you can get apparently that you paint on and then wash off, which should take the paint off with it..

someone must know!

Get some Nitro mors from B&Q , thats good stuff .

Bead blasting should only cost around £10 per wheel,thats all we payed up here and that was for Truck wheels for a vintage truck.
