GODERATORS - As per my last post and request, please leave in here for a while, as once you moved it to the Wheel formu it has had a poor response

As title suggests, the tread is nearly down to the legal limit and new boots are due. I am still on the original tyres for an MY01 WRX and wondered what people have had fitted at first change. Have you changed manufacturer, or stuck with the original? How long do they last, what are they like for grip etc? What price and where from? All opinions welcome.

Cheers,

Dan

had toyo's fitted by my local dealer, quite a nice tyre, not as noisey as originals and well better handling in the wet, worth pricing as an option.....

this is a thread which crops up reguarly.

nearly everyone runs either toyo's or goodyear eagle f1's.

they are both outstanding tyres, i run f1's personally, but i don't think there is much to choose between them.

hope that helps!

Goodyear F1s are an awesome replacement for the standard items - they grip really well in wet and dry.

Shop around a bit though - don't get ripped off like i did at Quickfit (£150 a corner)

Anyone running the Eagle F1 GS-D3s? I ran the older model (D2?) on my Golf Gti a few years back and they were fantastic. The D3s did really well in Evo.

FLAME SUIT ON...

I always use my "local" Quikfit for all my tyres (Mine, Missus, Mum etc.)

Why??? Their COMPANY POLICY is to at least price match all relative area quotes.

So, I always ring around, get best quote, then stroll in get their laughable price, inform them of my quote and in 30 seconds they match / beat it. (COMPANY POLICY)

And they are 2 mins drive away...

I can only tell you that F1's are oustanding, especially in the wet, I have no experience of Toyo's

from an old chap who still likes to wheel em round the bends!

I've got F1's on my MY99, and the difference from the origional potenzas is awesome.

I've just ordered a set of Toyos 215/40/17 from mytyres.net for £68.20 inc vat and delivery per corner - sounds like a good deal to me !!

Cheers neil
