Now then chaps,

Thanks for all your contributions to my engine life question.

What about tyre wear.

I've just changed a set of Goodrich boots after 22K, in your experience is this good or bad?

Seem also to get lots of wear on the outer edges of the fronts. My dealer said that that was quite normal with the suspension geometry but I thought they were talking boloc** and wanted the car to tracked which they did for a large fee !

I also know a bloke who said I was driving it too hard, can you believe it, what's the point in having one of these cars then.

Cheers

Excellent milage IMO. I don't expect to get any more than 15k out of my Toyos. Outside edges do ten to wear in my experience, regardless of tracking. I have also had TSL alignment, but it's the outsides which are still going. Nowt to worry about though, you can only tell if you really look.

Thumbs up

I'm lucky to see 10k from a pair of fronts and I have a Fiesta

Mine always does the outside edges, when I used to work in garages I would track it up at least once a month cos I was scrubbing tyres so much, in the end I just put it down to spirited driving rolling the shoulder of the tyre

I'm on BF Goodridge now (I think!) and they're holding up really well, done about 7K on them and they're still looking good
