Will put my winter tyres on soon, so does somebody have recommendations on how to store my 17'' wheels & tyres. Well, no problems for the wheels, just clean and cover them, but the tyres, is it better to keep them on a vertical or horizontal stand?

Also should they be completely deflated or should I put more air in than ususal? Or just the normal amount of air as usual?

I would store them on their side ad inflated to about 20-25 PSI
If you deflate them you risk the bead seal breaking anbd the tyre deforming.
If you store thom upright (on the tread) and one goes flat the tyre will deform and look like a "D" which may not damage the tyre but I wouldn't risk it!!

I'm no expert so if someone else knows better please post.
Iain.

Thumbs up

Drop the psi down to about 20psi, store on their side, wipe over with some tyre bright stuff (the silicone keeps the rubber from perishing).

Thanks,

so 20 PSI is about 1.3 bar, right?

Sorry for being stupid, but when you say "on their side" does that mean horizontally? like this "---" not like this "|||"
I bought a tyre stand last week where the tyres (with wheel) are hanging vertically ("|||"), is that ok too or do I have to buy another stand?

If the wheels are hanging the same way they go on the car. that'll be fine, be sure to put them in a bag or something, cos the daylight will eventually make the rubber go hard, this you don't want!
