Question

There's so much advice on this website its almost confusing.

I need some help from you brake experts out there.

Is it better to upgrade to 4 pots with standard subaru discs and pads or am I better off keeping my MY98 2 pots and getting better spec discs and pads?

Any thoughts?
Cheers Andy.

If your wheels will allow, go up to 4 pots, live with them for a while then when you feel the need, you can upgrade them, 2 pots are just plain crap.

Thanks for the reply.

Guess I just needed to convince myself a bit more that 4 pots is best at the mo.

Cheers.

Maybe,
BUT if the guy wants better brakes now, he'll never stop wanting better ones, therefore the best thing to do is get something that can be further upgraded when needed.

I guess you're both right, but I'll probs go with Ron and bite the bullet now. The pot upgrade isn't that much cheaper than a standard STi 4 pot kit.

Later I do want to mod the engine etc so I guess the 4 pot system would be a better starting point for future power increases.

Thanks, I'm off to bite some bullets.
Andy.

ron, dont think i'd go that far
4 pot with bigger disc will always be better than 2 pot on smaller disc - however with the right pad/disc combo the 2 pot can be made to work well (depends on budget/preference/driving style)
only prob. with 4pot upgrade is that early cars on 15" wheel need to upgrade as well to min. 16" for caliper clearance!!

alyn - as performance
