Picked up a nail last nite and seeing as both fronts are pretty low I was going to get them replaced but having read through various threads on best tyre choice etc some ppl seem to think its nescessary to change all 4. I Would of thought that just changing both front/back would be ok, same axle and all that.

Mark.

4x4's can get an imbalance due to different tread depths, I changed 2 rears in June and I get the fronts changed tomorrow.

Its not an issue IMHO - If your budget is tight, I'd say just do the two.

Then get into a habit of rotation front to rear, rear to front every couple of months and change all four tyres at once in future.

Im in same position. Have got a slow puncture on my offside front tyre. Bought two new Toyo T1-S Proxes 215/40/17 to replace the current Pirelli PZero 205/45/17's. Cant afford 4 tyres so just doing the front to at present. Will soon see if it causes any problems but I shouldnt think so and many peeps on here seem to have gone the same way if on a budget. Cant wait to get rid of the Pirellis though as they suck.

Simon.
