Brake Pad Advice Pagids
#1
2 years ago I purchased some Pagid FR front pads for c £115 and they have
worked pretty well. Now is the time to change them and I am confused.
I phoned one supplier and they offered me a pair (axle) for c £45
Have checked the Scoobysport site and they are £115
Are there different types of Pagid FR front pads? as I sure that Pete
wouldn't be that far out with his pricing

Are these for 2pots? If so there are two different types of calipers, which take different pads. Its dependent on the age of the car, from memory I think pre97 had one type, 97 - 98 had another type.
Have a look on the GGR site, I think they give two different prices on 2pot pads.

There are two types of 2 pots but the price difference is small, the current price for Pagid fast road pads approx £50.00 +vat at most Pagid dealers. I can get you the part Numbers if you like.

Sorry for the delay, old style 2 pot FR3077 @ £40.00 + vat/
1998 style 2 pots FR3108 @ £53.81 + vat I am not sure when in 1998 they changed so it's worth checking which type you have.
Rear pads easy FR3021 £38.50 + vat. You can also get Pagid RS42 race pads for the old style 2 pots, if you need any more help call me on 01474 560031.

guys, the price difference is CORRECT - one dealer has quoted for "fast road" pads and another for "competition" pads.
these are totally different products and hence the price difference.
exactly what type did you have before? what colour?
if you need any advice or indeed pads, then mail or phone me 0191-4103770

And further more, should I be buying Fast road or Race pads?
Stockcar has offered me some Pagid RS4-2 'Blues' at a very good price but will they be right for me?
I don't do track days (yet) and I need a pad that works well from cold. But I won't settle for the naff O.E brakes that are basically pants.
Any thoughts guys?
Ooops sorry am I hijacking threads again?

Seepyscoob RS4-2 pads work well from cold, if you have 4 pot brakes you can not get Pagid fast road pads for the front. The Pagid fast road pads are a bargain and a good improvement on standard but that said they are no match for the race pads ie RS4-2 and so on. Call me if you need any more info(01474 560031)or mail me.

Roger,
Many thanks for that. After speaking to stockcar he has confirmed what you said. Pagid blues can be used from cold and work like an oe pad until warmed up. Once warm though they can do amazing things. We will see.

Yep, I've got Pagid RS 42-1's fitted to my MY00 Turbo, with the 8 groove Pagid discs, absolutely fantastic setup, better from cold than OE but just get better and better as they heat up. Minimal dusting as well. I can highly recommend them for anyone wanting better pads. I got mine from Performance Braking in Monmouth, 01600 713117, £295 all in for the discs and pads, the pads are £130. Incredibly helpful people.
