What is the correct size of tyre to put onto the car?

Pretty sure it is 205/45 ZR17 m8.

although choice is limited in that size (although Goodyear sell the new Eagle F1 GS-D3 in that size) alot of people go for 215 40 17.

ak47 is correct. My RB5 came with 205/45/17 Pirelli tyres when new. It now has Toyo Proxes T1-S 215/40/17 fitted and I am very happy with them. They need 500 miles to bed in properly though.
