2002 sti wheels
I have a 2002 sti with the bbs spec c wheels with 5x100 and a offset of 53 from memory. I do the odd track day and have found that the front arches rub on the inside. My car is on coilovers but I have raised the car up by 20mm and it still catches. Does anybody else have this problem as I'm looking into new wheels and just wondered what is a good offset the will fit both the out arch and inner arch to stop it scrubbing.
Thanks Chris
Thanks Chris
Your running a similar height to me by the looks of it. I'm on ad08r aswell. I cannot work it out. They catch just in front of of where the arch comes down front the top of the turret. You not running any spacers?
Might be worth taking a few measurements,
measure from a flat road to the top of the arch opening,
are both sides rubbing ?
if not measure the centre of rear wheel to centre of front wheel on both side, and compare to see if the arms are all ok.
do you have your 4 wheel alignment print out ?

The alignment was done on a hunter system at a porsche tuner and I was told the the car is perfect in respect to difference in wheelbase length side to side and height etc. I will have a print out somewhere. It also has full whiteline rear arm kit. I just can't work it out tbh.
In regards to things collapsing everything has only been fitted to the the car in the last 12 months and was brand new. It happens on both sides and is worse side to side depending what track I'm on
no excessive camber there then,
when Im home I will measure the arch height of mine, when I first installed them it used to catch on the N/s slightly, there is a section that comes into the arch area, only a few MM but it did catch there,
after lifting it a few MM it stopped, so I can give you a MM height for comparison,
did you fit the coil overs yourself, if so how much pre load did you apply ?

I did to fit them but it has since been in twice to have 4 wheel alignment done and been checked over so I think it has been checked or would hope it would have.
If you could measure it that would be great mate thanks.
I take it 225 45 is the correct tyre for the wheel aswell

if there is no pre load the the springs would be soft/saggy, so the wheels could travel with easy up into the arches if that makes sense,
mine is a sti with 225`s on,
right standard it was
F- 676mm
R- 671mm
After coilovers it was
F- 635mm with no catching at all, track or road.
R- 630mm no rubbing with 4 in.

I will check the ride height shortly when I get home.
They are bc coilovers with 9kg front and 7kg rears. At medium adjustment on the shocks it rubbed quite alot where as with the arbs and the coilovers wound up it has only just caught. I get the feeling I have the car sat to low

I thought 5 kg F and 4 kg R were standard road springs,
and 6 kg F and 5 kg R were for track.
