Default Brake pedal low after turning LEFT ONLY ?

so in a straight line pedal works great brakes nice and strong. turn to the right , after I use brake it work again perfect , turn left and pedal goes half way down ..... ? any thoughts? have jacked car up checking for free play at 12 and 6 clock but seems quite minimal for a bad bearing to cause it.

I have the same problem but it did it Left and right. I then checked my axle nuts, one turned loose about 1/10 of a turn.

torqued this again, lock it again, and I'm going for new axle nuts all around.
but still have the same problem only when turning left my brake pedal goes half way down.

I have 2 bearings for the front in backorder, normally will have them next week and then I'm going to change them just to rule that out.

chears staff for your comment there. yes its a difficult one , I checked my axle nut on left and seemed ok , im thinking its possible I have air in the line to the caliper so with gravity when I turn left the air mab entering the top of calliper , don't know.... and I have no bearing noise either . if u could let me know how you get on thanks .

I'll do, I also don't have any bearing noise, but since it's 20years old I think it would not hurt to change a few wheel bearings.

Also because it's about the last thing that hasn't been changed already.
Done so far:

Master cylinder
Brake booster
master cylinder brace
braided stainless steel brake hoses
Brake calipers
Brake discs
Brake pads

If it isn't resolved changing the bearings I'm ditching my brembo's and go for AP.
I'll keep you posted when I'm done with it.

Push pads back in first then try your bearings.

@1509joe: could you explain this a little further, how does pushing the pads back would change anything? Never figured their could be something different doing this?

You'll not feel any play in the bearings with the pads tight to the discs.

ok , I had my car up on ramps and the front passenger axle nut was loose , I think due to either a broken tie rod end, or a nasty pot hole I went over bust the tie rod end then caused bearing problem. but now the axle nut is now tighter, the brakes seem more stable , left turning does not induce large pedal travel. but pedal travel is slightly lower , going right left or forward stopping. but stable at least! just thought id share this info. check your axle nuts !

I had the same issue. The hubs had to be machined (where the bearings were), because it had play under load.
this is a common issue, as soon as I told my mechanic (subaru specialist) he knew exactly what it was. It's perfect now.

Hub nut/driveshaft nut. You have no axles!

In the mean time I changed over my front bearings, my brakes work fine since.
Bearings fell apart while taking them off. One side had worn the hub badly.

it's not a castel nut, its one you had to tap in to slot on the axle end to thread lock it. (sorry if this isn't the right english sentence building)

Weird!

I can't quite link why it would affect the brake pedal, though, regardless?

Cause when the weight is on it it twists/sags for want of a better description and when the brake is pressed it is straightening the axle/hub via the disc with the caliper pistons. Hence press the brake once to straighten the wheel press again to brake
