Does anyone know (what a question, of course you do!) if the 4-pot brakes from the MY99-00 fit directly on the pre MY97 model? My original disks are warped and I need to do something, I've understood that the MY99-00 model brakes are pretty decent, so maybe I'll try and get a 2nd hand set of those instead of trying to get these ridiculous 2-pot brakes to stop the car... waddaya think?

Subaru 4 pots will fit straight on, but you will need the disks and pads to go with them.
Pay between £250-300 for a full used set (calipers/disks and pads).

And fit braded hoses and uprated fluid while your at it!!!

Iain,

tnx for the info regarding the price. Yes I thought of changing the hoses also, and mounting the MRT brake cylinder support bracket I have waiting... But do you think it's worth spending £250-300 on the Subaru brakes? I've heard that they are completely different from the earlier ones, but...

Do I need 16" wheels if I fit the brakes from a MY99 -> or will they fit under a 15" wheel ? I have 17" wheels during summer, but original 15" wintertime, of course I could swap the brakes twice a year as well, but...

You will need at least 16" wheels!

That's the only downside though

Some 16" wheels don't fit over the 4pots! I have a MY95 WRX and the standard 16" wheels on it wouldn't fit over the brakes so I got hold of a set of MY00 UK 16" wheels as the MY00 cars had 4pots standard! I seriously doubt the 15" would fit over them!
