Rear brakes are more stabilisers than overall stoppers. I'd look at better pads / bigger kit up front.

Hi there

As above rear brakes doesn't brake as front one,due this I would suggest try have look for better pads as first, then discs and if this doesn't helps, then upgrade to Brembo or other Big Brake Kit is only option,OE 4pots are pretty poor, they are not the best on heavier new age

Hope this helps

Thanks,Jura

I'm running over 350bhp on my '01 Bugeye and I'm very happy with the standard sized set of Tarox grooved and drilled discs and pads I've just had fitted on the rears.

But, as stated above, it's the AP Racing 6-pots I'm running on the front that really do the business and they fit under standard WRX 17" rims.

Thanks for replys, the front havent ever been changed ie just standard. the back on mine one side has rust on disc, i took it to a local garage who said the rear brake was working but it squeeks like hell and doesnt look great. My assumption was if it was working at rear the rust would clear on contact? When i brake etc. il dig around for some pads etc is there anywhere reliable to buy from. Thank you

If the area where the pads contact the discs are rusted then it may be a seized piston. The rest of the disc will rust naturally if not painted or coated.

Yea but they aren't overly difficult. I've done my fronts and replaced all pistons, seals and clips.

Thought of having the brake bias mod done? Makes the rears work harder, car stops flatter, less nose dive.
