Ive done testing on the machine today on a customers 13" x 10" slick that races F2 stock cars, and all went perfect! The machine took a 5mm cut straight across the tyre in around 40 seconds, the finish exceeded my expectations, I will try and upload a video and some pictures soon, but as above I am now open for business :-)

NEW PICTURES ADDED!

I have just ordered some new tooling to produce an even better finish, as a precision engineer I am constantly wanting to optimise quality! The finish now is good but I believe I can achieve better and make sure the tyre has a surface finish as good as it was before it was cut.

you may have to excuse my ignorance, but what are you actually doing to these tyres? regrooving them by cutting into the rubber left? how can that be legal? or am i missing the point altogether?

I am reducing the depth of tread to leave the tyre around 3mm instead of 8mm when new, this reduces tread squirm and heat build leaving the tyre in its optimum state for racing.
