How are scooby drivers getting on or not, with the hideous fuel prices. It must be a killer as an everyday user. And the wonkers are trying to hike it up again.

All the same and i understand what you say, but it must still be harsh having to fill up more often now. You can get diesel sports you know, and some very quick ones at that, but the touble with them is when on full blat they are thirsty even for a diesel

not using the right foot as heavy as i use to. getting about 260/270 per fill up so only costing about £140 a month but god is it boring
glad i only use the car for work at the moment, but if the fuel goes past £1.50 i will be looking at using the train and only using the car at weekends.

You must be the only one on this planet then to rubbish the RS, apart from the mk4 escort rs and fiesta rs, Ford generally dont get it wrong. As far as jap cars being the way forward, in what, mid range family saloons, and reliability are you for real. you work for ford so you should know all the issues mazda cars and nissan are pants, as for toyota, read the recalls The new skyline yes, is a great car but theres not much else going on for jap motors. Id rather be running around in a 20 year old dub than a welded together rice box. When youve had the amount of motors ive had and built then come back and put a sensible argument forward, not just spouting off for the sake of it. Ive had **** loads of scoobys and modded them all, so im pretty sure i know what im on about, and my judgement is not clouded about japs or germans, i just know what i prefer and trust

the rs is pants bad turning circle, inlet manifold has a thing for exploding and not much better than the st for far less money and as for the amount of cars i have had loads of differnet cars including fiesta turbo's vw golf gti's pug gti's and wasted money on them all ive worked in the motor trade for 15 years and as for your vw it is nice and im not spouting off just making a point that a real sports car is never a diesel and toyota's recall is nothing compared to the 27 that were on the c5 on the first day of sale so i do know my stuff and if you actually drove a rs focus you would understand that it is horrible and way too expensive for what it is

DB i think a turning circle is not going to be my ultimate decision on not buying a performance car, unless i live in camden. And actually i do have access to an RS FOCUS as well as several others including an electric mongole car (it is a special car) as my old man works in the trade selling specialist cars and its a cracking piece of kit and saying the ST is better is, well lets say a bit clouded. I really did'nt want to mention that, but you seem bent on slagging anything thats not jap, Lighten up dude, weve all got our choice of cars and have you ever seen me on here slagging scoobys off. Eeeerrr i dont think so

lol im yet to drive a mk2 rs2000 thats the only car i would pay good money for in the classic section and as a rusty shell is 5k may take me a while to save to buy a nice one

well i got all 3, the fuel prices are stupid at the moment and my scoob thinks it a fish im sure!!! my mk3 escort will soon be passed on to my nephew so we needed something else as a cheap reliable everyday runner and when a mk3 golf came up cheap as chips a deal was done, it is mainly for the missis to use (keep her out of mine lol) only trouble is i think the modding bug as hit her to, set of coil overs on the way and a set of 15" multispokes with stretched tyres this is just to start apparantly!!! so the money i would be saving on fuel she is spending on her new toy!!!

I usually get about 220-230 miles to a tank, but if I'm only going to and from work it's about 20 miles a week. Went to London this weekend and managed to get 260+ miles and I've still got just less than a 1/4 of a tank left
