Hello mate,

I bet you were impressed! another 50bhp from a map and that jump of increase on the torque! I bet you had a quick journey home

There were a few issues as it goes...it wasn't making any boost so the solenoid was changed to a 2 port, still no boost, then to a 3 port and finally...BOOST!

Simon mapped it exactly how I wanted, low range to mid range torque with the boost tailing off towards the end. Solid idle and quick throttle response...it made a small 260bhp with 270lbft but that's all I was expecting...now I get to drive it over summer whilst getting the rest of the cosmetics done and then blow it up ready for the engine and gearbox over winter!

How did the mrs like all those pops and bangs???

Hi,

We were there with the rally car....got home at 10pm in the end.

Our car made 275bhp and 288lbft on the simtek.

Charlie convinced us that the SYVECS would be a good upgrade path and so Simon fitted it and mapped it on V power.

Results were very pleasing....

298.4BHP and 320lb/ft torque with a very healthy 50bhp increase at 6000rpm.

The car also now only boosts to 1.6bar where previously it was at 1.8, so it should be a bit safer also.

It goes really well now, considering its running a 34mm air restrictor in the TD05 turbo.

Many thanks to Both Simon and Charlie....

jon

Yeah she found them quite amusing for the first 5mins!! after that they were banned lol the Funniest thing was she managed to fall asleep halfway home ....

Bet you are pleased she's running right now, like we were saying the main thing is that it feels right to drive and you havnt got anything to worry about now,

I Imagine your car is still a flyer with 260bhp it must be a light car.
very good tourque as well mate..

Good luck with your car , and dont go blowing it up to quickly

My car pulled 319bhp and 330ftlb to start with (more than i expected)

And simon managed to get 346bhp and 370ftlb out of it

The main diffrence is how much more useable the power is.

Your car must feel animal

So your long journey was well worth it then!!

370ftlb from yours sounds very impressive, mine managed 355ft/lb. I was only up by about 35bhp with an added 3port and meth. It does feel quite abit faster but didn't get a real chance to test it on the way home. I,m doin a trackday today(sunday) so will get a better chance to see how much its changed. At least now I know that I have the max power possible for my set up which was the only reason for the remap. I'm just waiting for it to go bang now , only time will tell.

How could you let her fall asleep?! You weren't trying hard enough were you..lol

I have to admit, it's completely changed my view..since Saturday morning i've been working flat out to get all my parts on and finished! I'll be posting some pics up tomorrow hopefully on the project thread for all to see. As for flying, it's nice to be able to drive on boost...not as quick as the previous toys but plenty to play with for the time being

Let the SYN...BEGIN!
