Nippy Seat Ibiza - M'bro to Redcar
Had a play tonight with a very quick Ibiza on the way to Redcar tonight - had to move over to let him past! We pulled up and had a chat at the seafront before following an Evo 8 out. The poor guy must have wondered what was happening as he was toasted by a sleeper Ibiza and a MY95 UK Impreza Turbo.
Nice meeting you mate, hope to see you about again! Got me thinking of buying that 300ZX MAF and 550cc injectors now though

Nice to meet you guys. Stnd classic looking just like it should nice car. Also went well. Poor old yellow Evo. It made all the right noises. Cant remember which it was i know it was a Yellow Evo8 or i thought it was not sure which one bhp wise. "Evo Time LOL". I thought my car was a little sluggish tonight the maf has gone down. I plugged vag-com in and its showing a mass air flow sensor fault "signal to low". I will have to order one in the morning. Its not just scoobs that break mafs i am on my 2nd now and it needs another all within 4 years. Ah well its only £'s. I got ahead of the Evo and the engine light came on with the traction control light i knew what it was staraight away. I hope u kept it behind you (Evo) after i went my own way.

Ahh, I thought your's seemed a little slower on the way back as you weren't really pulling away like you had earlier (even though we still managed to blitz an Evo 8!). I headed back towards Redcar as we passed a couple of my mates who had broken down. The Evo headed back toward boro with his tail between his legs.

LOL i had to turn the ignition off and back on to get it out of limp mode and i did not dare give it to much stick as the maf will be screwing up the air flow reading and i dont wanna run lean. Bloody maf sensors. I cant complain its been on 2 years. Good fun though it makes me laugh daddy big ***** evo giving it for all to see. And then its sent home with its tail between its legs. I hope he is a MLR member.

Cos the Ibiza 20VT MAF does not like certain types of induction kit filters especially if its oiled up ones.
The Hurricane one using a Green Filter with no oil works quite well but Pipercross/K+N tends to kill the MAF on VAG motors.

Yep i killed my 1st maf with a pipercross one. My current one is jabbas own Induction kit which is designed for vag motors. Mafs are just very weak. Vibration, heat also cause issues. Brand new cars have had knackered mafs but have not been bad enough to throw a fault code, but if you measure air flow with vag com you can see its not doing what it should. Mafs are now £70 on an exchange basis but used to be over £220. Its a very common failure along with coil packs.

Walbro Pump and FSE reg
Uprated clutch and Fidanza 4.2KG flywheel
PFR7B spark plugs
AVO Turbo TMIC
Boost @ 1.25bar dropping to 1.2bar further up the rev range
Andy Forrest advised that I am running 90% injector duty cycle and the MAF is maxed out. I'll need the 550cc injectors and the MAF from a 300zx to run any more boost. I am not sure the gearbox will take the strain though.
RR: Nice to see you're up and running again!

Not sure on torque or power figures but the bum dyno says it's faster than when I bought it . My AP22 performance meter gives a 4.67s 0-60 and a 11.8sec to 100mph time. I was quite brutal to get those times though!

Buy the injectors etc there no such thing as to much power.

your car got the IHI Turbo conversion from Jabba then RR?
Mike took me out in his demo a couple of years back...scared the crap out of me as we lost the front brakes due to a split hose. Just aswell he knew how to control the car using just the hand brake! The 7,800k redline was mad though.
