completely blanked by a WR1 driver
...even tho he was parked next to me in the traffic que.
Now I would have thought a WR owner would deffo be a fellow enthusiast.
Guess I've been away too long, you may not see many Impreza's in Belgium, but at least they all exchange a friendly wave on the very odd occasion that you do see another one
Jon
Oh by the way eeeuuuwww

I used to see one driving from Blunsdon towards Highworth every morning (I won't say where it parks up in the daytime) but the miserable bu99er never waves.
That's not you is it?

What do you drive? Will keep an eye out for you, show you I'm not a miserable bu99er! I'm in a 51 green WRX, mechanically standard - for now

My commiserations. I still get a grin when I get in, almost a year after getting it I'd call it pathetic if it wasn't me doing it!

Saw a wr1 yesterday coming out of local village. Gave wave , and got a nothing back he saw me, cos he looked across. But thats practically the norm round here. There are about 7 - 10 that i see wave acknoledge each other, and the rest which seem to be the ones I see most just blank you. Maybe IM should update the owners handbook to say something about waving.

How has this inadvertantly turned into a Swindon appreciation society thread?
I 'ate Swindon,I do
Not only did they reject me as budding young footballer(in the days of Don Rogers and Peter Noble)
...but also my first wife ran off with some geyser from Highworth:suspicious:
lol,Jon

Can't say I thoroughly enjoy living in Swindon, if I'm honest, but it's amazing how these provincial towns get this black hole like grip on you. I came here to work almost four years ago and am still here...
Probably cos I'm too lazy to get round to moving somewhere nice. Worked in Bristol briefly - must be the only person who commuted FROM Swindon TO Bristol. God knows why I don't live there, must be that laziness again

Speaking of Swindon, are there ever any meets round here? Probably looking to buy a new Scooby in a few months and wouldn't mind seeing and hearing what's on offer and picking a few brains

I wouldn't live in Swindon, but working there isn't to bad. It's that lovely feeling you get when you leave the place behind at the end of the day. Makes you appreciate where you live.
Swindon a.k.a Swine Don ('Pig hill' in old English) Throws a different light on bringing home the bacon

Regarding local meets, there's a biggie once a month in Reading just off the M4. Never been myself though. Lots of scoobys in Swindon though, at least 2 other P1s and 2 or 3 WR1s that i know of. Plus Bob Rawle lives here and has got a couple of rather tasty Scoobs.

Not many meets in swindon, I also live in old town and I drive a yellow special edition impreza with a black bonnet, have not noticed alot of people waving round here though, so dull.
Wonder if any of you have seen me around?
Maybe we should organise a meet at some point?

Someone did arrange a Swindon meet last summer, quite a few turned up but it was the same weekend as the IAT airshow at Fairford and lots of peeps were already going to that instead.
