What for...Hunting, popping cans, target shooting? Different air rifles are better for different things. I prefer the compressed air as there is no recoil and can be had with 10 shot magazines which is easier than loading one pellet at a time, for hunting. Downside is filling it up with air after every 150 shots!
Careful with the stronger srpings. You can't go above 12lbs muzzle velocity or you need a firearms cert.

PCP is the way to go fella, so much easier, quieter etc.
I have a .22 Weihrauch HW100 very little use you could buy, it is at legal limit with powerful scope on it.
Money goes up quite a bit when you go into PCP.
