Just a quick question, what do you mean by serviceable condition?
I assume these blocks are going to be stripped down and re-built back up? If so i have a couple of engines with bottom end knock if these are any good to you? The blocks themselves are intact and indeed still run, but if you are rebuilding them with uprated parts then this is by the by.
Cheers,
Chris

Chris,
The blocks are wanted for re-builds, so they need to be in a good enough condition that allows for a bore & hone for a 92.5mm over size piston.
Ideally, for reasons of shipping/collection, I'd just like bare block pairs, that can be easily boxed up. Otherwise, I'll have to work out how to get them shipped.
As a guide, £150.00-£300.00 depending on condition, and location.

OK. In that case, shall i strip the two engines back to just bottom end with heads, so no ancillaries and no manifolds or pipes, and get in touch? (one is already bare if i remember correctly.) Or are they not up to the standards you were looking for?

I know what a cdb looks like and its not one of them but I don’t know how to tell what a semi cdb looks like but. I have a bottom end from a V3 sti ra that spun a bearing if any good to you? Not split it but from what I can see pistons and bores look good

V3 would normally be an open deck block.

Hi Again.
I stripped one of the engines down over the weekend and found it was an open deck block, which i had my suspicions about.
Is there any way of telling if it is closed/semi/open before i strip the second one day so not to waste my time?
Cheers,
Chris

If its a closed deck it will have cross hatching on the front of the block casting, above where the oil modine bolts to.
Not sure if there is a way to identify the semi closed deck. I'm sure Mark will know if there is.
