Babber,
I think one of the cossie boys had a MY99 impreza turbo engine available (low miles and asking 1k for it replied with this info in a thread for Mattski from memory). I know its a bit vague but I think it was Mike Rainbird...
What else have you got planned for the engine, MY99-00 engines seem to be okish on bigger power and standard internals... There's a fair few with 340 bhp+. And Andy Tangs did 356bhp with relatively few power mods.
Jon

polarbearit,
No it's not for me, it for a mate of mine already running 320 BHP on a p reg WRX. He wants to get an engine, strip it down and build it again, with Group A Cossie pistons, etc
How's the Skyline ?
Cheers Phill C

Phil, I guess you missed the threads on my woes with the skyline... Lets just say its not happened thanks to the DVLA and issues with reg plate transfers. I did however sell my scooby after placing a deposit on the GTR. So for the moment I'm driving around in a 'lovely' Rover 620Ti until I find another good skyline
Back to topic, why doesn't your friend try and track down an old legacy 2.2 block, I understand the head/turbo from the WRX can be fitted and the engine will be stronger.

Why doesn't Ben just get a Harrier jump jet and be done with it?
He's just scared of your MY00 with your Dawes.
Does he want some driving lessons aswell ?
Cheers to you my Babber. TEAM THORNS ?????

Hi Babber,
I have an engine in my garage - it's from a 1993 Legacy Turbo. I bought it with the intention of doing something similar to what you described but it's just not happened. This is the engine with the closed deck as described above, so should be good for around 350BHP :0)))
Anyway - the engine doesn't look pretty as it was taken from a fire damaged car, but it should be good for your purposes. Make me an offer if you're interested. I could send some pics if necessary.
Cheers,
