I get a little irked when people refer to the clear indicator'd rear clusters as STi lights . For the record, the clear ones were fitted to 1997MY>on JDM Classics, regardless of model (not just STi's)
P.S. I'm not normally this much of a miserable b*****d

Well unless Brian Long's Impreza book is factually wrong then, sorry, but ALL 1997MY>on JDM Classic models had the clears. See the chapter on the 1997MY cars and, on page 78,, there's quite clearly a Subaru library picture of a WRX wagon with the clear clusters showing. Elsewhere, further on in the book, there are numerous other images of WRX's and non-STi Type RA's sporting the clears! Hell, even the 'lowly' SRX grade has 'em!
The STi tag is a convenient reference for these lights, but is misleading... After all, what about pre<1996MY STi's?! The 'STi lights' tag has become something of an urban myth in my opinion...
