when you fit a VTA you have to put the small pipe back onto the new DV and block the big re-circ pipe up with a bung(usually come as part of a fitting kit)

oh right i thought you were removing the dv altogether.I'd seriously think about a VTA as it will probably make your car run like a bag of crap as the MAF will be misreading causing the ECU to chuck in a load of extra fuel causing the car to become a bit jerky and use more fuel than normal.

Just my 2p

I know I have read alll the debates about them mate. I am going to trial it and see for myself! If it does ruin the running/fuel I will simply swap back!

Its not everything though is it mate!

Anyway down to business I fitted a Baileys dump valve on my 1996 sti v3 ra and blocked the pipe with a 34mm bung. I didnt have 1 and they were about 7 quid on flea bay.I ended up with a guy on scoobynet making me 1 for £5 delivered which was nice.

Hope that helps

Hello mr nice guy! Ill try and get the size then Ill have one off you cheers buddy.

I dont want to take off the re-circ pipe and measure it as its supposidly a nightmare to get back on. (Someone said you pretty much have to disconnect other end of piping to re-fit onto the DV)-I'll have to as a last resort but if someone knows the size, it saves me quite a big job I believe
