Wanted, track tyres wanted, used/part worn is fine, looking for toyo R888, Yokohama A034 or similar. MUST BE 18" nd no wider than 245mm

 

I have some pirelli/michelin/kuhmo 225/650 x 18" rally tyres which would be great for track days. Based in Manchester.

no thanks mate, its the R888 tread pattern kind of look im after

 

I've got 5 X 225/40/18 Michelin Cups available (as per M3 CSL/Porsche 911 GT3 etc). They are part warn but with good tread still.

Bought with intention of using on trackdays, but purchased trackday car instead.

I have a set of my 02 sti alloy wheels and tyres for sale. They are gold forged 7.5 j * 17 , 100pcd with toyo r888 235 45 17 tyres with 1.6mm to 2mm tread. These wheels are straight with centre caps, but have marks on them. They would be suitable for trackdays or refurbishment. £200

Steve, Sorry to hijack but did you use your R888s for track and if so how many miles did you get out of them from their original 5 mm to current 2 mm. Curious as I ve just bought a set and have no idea how many track days they will last.

I did my 1st track day on my 888's last year at castle coombe, 4 x 20 min sessions, initially they wore quick, especially front left.

Since then the wear has been good, and done about 6-7 track days (including 2 open pit lane days) since and about 6000 road miles and 3 tyres are on the 1.6mm wear indicator, front left is down to cord, after locking up on elvington and getting flat spots.
I suspect these may wear better if heat cycled before being used in anger on track.

I got these off Supertouring, hopeing to put them on for some future trackdays. But I've just killed one of my road tyres with a massive stone left in the road, and had to replace it and the other side. An expense I didn't want!

Do they have to be road legal tyres? I may be able to get hold of some part worn track tyres, not for road use though.

shane, I was going to put these cup tyres on my car at the end of this week, in preparation for the summer fun day, then raf valley trackday the week after. So they're road legal.
