Was due to get a new one for under £300 but the deal is looking a bit pear shaped at the moment.

Anyone know of any similar deal or got one for sale?

cheers

The guy who was getting them (friend of a friend) may be losing his job in the near future and if so will not go ahead with the multi-purchase to get the good price.

Rich

btw i've had a mail from someone who can get 1 for £340+shipping as a back up.

OK, I was keeping this seceret.
Ring COMTECH, at Westoughton Nr Wigan (ask 192 for the number) then ask for Guy. This company is THE main UK importer of the Bel range of products and can supply you the 550 for......£285 Inc. good eh ? because it was better than the scoobynet group buy I didn't want to upset anyone with this info.
Regards
Chris

Id be VERY suprised if Comtech would offer the 550 at £285 to just anyone phoning them. As Chris says they are the UK distributer of the Beltronics range as as such supply the entire UK Beltronics distribution network. If they were to retail the 550 at £285 then they would be cannabalising the market and would p1ss off all their dealers no end!

Id like to hear the results of a phone call of someone calling them out of the blue asking for such a massive discount.

Please post the results here, Im genuinely interested

Regards, Bren

Bren,
Very true mate and maybe I should edit my post so as not to cause any problems, however, I did clear this with Guy first who was happy to supply to the Subaru community at the proposed price ?
Thoughts ?
Chris

Phoned up earlier:-

Firstly 'GUY' does not exist, there was a chap called Glyn who explained that the £285 price is trade price and not open to anyone except bonifide companies.

I was referred to one of their distributers, Networks who apparently done a deal with scoobynet before. Got a quoted price of £320 inc VAT and P&P. which is the best alternate (legit) price so far.

very tempting...

Sorry, Glyn is his name not guy.
However, he's obviously been told from up above that they can no longer supply to us individually and direct, I have passed on approx 6 people in the last few months and I know a couple of them DEFINATELY purchased from him at my quoted price. Shame though.

Richard

I know that all reports reckon the EURO550 is about the best out there but I have one and the wife has the Snooper 815iS. The Snooper is better and doesn't get set-off when using your mobile (Nokia 7110/6210).
I mention it coz the Snooper is cheaper.

Interested in anyone else's experience.

p.s. also tried 5 mths back to talk Comtech into selling me the 550 direct - they were having none of it!!
