Smile MR2 Turbo

After an MR2 twin-cam turbo, ideally a T-bar.
Colour not important, neither is origin (UK/Jap).

Would prefer not to travel to Newquay for one so if anyone knows of a nice 'un for sale in Scotland, LMK.

Cheers,
Paul

Just sold my old one, nice cars. The turbo was never a uk model though.

Make sure and get a good one, there's plenty dogs about.

I used to own a UK spec non Turbo, great little car only let down with the bad weather drivability (or lack of it) if it snows your walking!

My mate was looking at this turbo at weekend and it looked to be a good car he couldnt get insurance on it tho - http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www...00435158766822

They are very tail happy, great fun however once you learn how to control the rear end snapping away

I would also reccomend giving the Tbar a miss and go for a coupe.....I had the Tbar and fair enough the 5/6 times I could be arsed/weather permitted to take it off it was cool, but you pay for it the rest of the time in my opinion....I actually prefered my mates coupe

Congrats on getting the MR2 turbo ! you will love it.
It's a real drivers car, and will teach you a lot of new skills (gotta love them islands )

I've had two of em, a 92 coupe & a 97 T-bar, the T-bar was great !

The best thing I ever did was, put GOODYEAR Eagle F1 GSD3's on it, the amount of grip in the wet was greatly improved.

Great car for ICE install aswell !

If they have a weakness, it's the water system.
You "MUST" make shure the water has plenty of anti-freez in, & it's topped right up !

Other than that, they are very reliable.

Post up a pic !

Here's mine (well, my old one)

Will get pics up once i get the new 17s on it (Team Dynamics RVR2's or Oz 'somethings')

I think on Jap-fuel they are 225bhp out-the-box, probably about 220bhp on Optimax.

Full decat and induction to be fitted too....an extra 10horses maybe?

The twitchy nature of the car is the main reason i bought it. I've had a handful of Scoobs now and am fed up being able to plant my right foot in a corner and come effortlessly out the other side.

Anyone got a 170mhp dash surplus to requirement? This one is off the clock after 110!

They are not actually twin turbo's but twin 'entry' turbos......theres a difference apparently look on www.imoc.co.uk if you want to read up about MR2's

I think power is 245bhp on the older models Rev 3/4.
