Could £5k get me a good condition impreza turbo with service history, minimum or no mods?

Or do I have to wait even longer to get something reasonable?

Let me know if I am a dreamer.

you'll definately get one for that, not sure how old though

Being an MY00 owner I watch the prices for it fluctuate wildly from say 10k down to 7 and a bit. So from that you could be looking at 95/96/97 example?

Steer clear of dealers for a bargain, as they smoke crack on their lunch breaks judging by their prices. Some great deals can be found by looking at non-Scoob dealers (part-ex's) who just want to shift the car fast.

MRDBM, thanks, I have noticed a big range in prices.

Seems weird that some '99 cars are a great price, but 4 or 5 years older are not much less.

fatscoob, think you misread what I was asking for, but thanks.

Hi,

You can have my red MY98 'S' reg absolutely standard UK turbo for £5500.

It's the facelifted version with white dials etc fitted with cat 1 alarm, aircon and full subaru service history with all receipts from new...I'm the second owner.
The down side is that with living in Notts and working in Leeds it has 128k of mostly motorway miles! Still runs like a dream and doesn't smoke or anything silly, it's in very good condition with a few supermarket knocks (is there any without!) and obviously a few stone chips but is mechanically sound and very clean inside...there's only ever me in it for 2 hours a day.

Cheers..Andrew

fatscoob,

£5k is what I want to spend, not sure if I can go over that (due to spending involved in moving house atm).

Lots of mods worries me in regards to bumping up insurance.

Thanks for the input so far.

The Car is in mint condition and has not been abused. It's has new brakes, clutch, exhaust (stainless steel), shockers all round (it came with circuit shockers, which were too hard for the road!)
