Has anyone got an old rubber surround from and early impreza they don't want? I want to have a go at butchering mine to fit a leather surround over the top but would rather have a go at a "spare" first

There must be a few people out there with one lying around collecting dust

R U sure you need to butcher it?
mine is '98MY, and has a cheap(£9) red leather gaiter on top of the rubber one.
I prized the metal push fit clips off from underneath, made holes in the leather to suit, refitted both, and pushed the clips back.
Both fit, and I defy anyone to tell without feeling:

The Gilly - I live in Harrogate, North Yorkshire so not really viable to pick it up. I would be more than willing to pay postage though!

Alcazar - the pre 97 one has a large bottom rubber section which causes the leather cover to look odd. I already have a leather cover but I need to cut off the top section of the rubber to make it look ok, hence the spare.
