Wink

Theres plenty of good ones ranging up to over £130.00

I saved myself a fortune & went to www.raldes.co.uk as it's the same as some priced twice as much

That looks good - I am assuming it is QS009 for £38.50

Is that all I need? Are they easy to fit?

Looking at the others available for 4 times the price I cant help thinking that this is too easy.....what's the catch??!!

I dont think that it has a quick shift as standard.

It certainly doesn't feel like one!

Yep, your right The 98 model saw the introduction of a "shorter throw gear lever" (taken from the SIDC faq) and not a quick shift

No catch at all & they are easy to fit. If you remember to take out the pin surrounding the ball at the bottom of the gear stick Took me 2rs before I figured that out Muppet!!!

Hang on a minute.....I just read the thread below

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?ThreadID=185548

and further to a chat with Jamie, the QS that he sells is the full system and the one from Rally design is basically a normal shift lever with a bend in it.

Depends what you want but I am going with the JW at a knocked down price of £90

All this is just FYI !!

The one I got from Rally design (MY95) was bent slightly more to account for the bracket on the lever being higher. Hence shortening the throw of the lever.

Ok - fitted it reasonably easily - there wasnt a pin holding the old one in just a plastic ball joint.

Just been for a drive and really like it - thanks for all the advice.

Exclamation

Yorkmeister

Thought you were selling.

How involved was fitting, I'm interested in one, but not too handy as they say. Presumably the throws aren't encumbered, and it utilises the standard leather gaitor.

mancamefirst - its easy to fit - I am not the worlds greatest either! It took me 30 minutes. You take off plastic surrounds and then unbolt one bolt. Take out the old lever and then push the new one in (brute force reqd), bolt up again and then adjust the height of the shift using an alan key. Replace the plastic trim and gear **** and gaitor and job done.

I have decided to hold on to the car as I got gazumped on the Porsche and I didnt want to play that game.

Cool

Yorkmeister

Thanks for the reply. Sounds sweet, just fitted a momo ****, so a quickshift is next.

Shame about the Porker, still it all happens for a reason apparently.

Question

Yorkmeister,
Have you found it to be notchy??
I've just fitted a JW quickshift to MY02 WRX (approx 1 hour ago) and even with it adjusted for the longest throw have found it to be quite notchy!!
Not sure if I like it, is yours like this??

Desperate for a reply
