I require a CD/Tuner for my wife's car but don't want to spend a fortune because she doesn't use it that much. I know I can get brand new ones for around £100, but does anyone have one they want to sell for less?

Someone must have or are thinking of upgrading their stereo. All I want is a fairly base model.

Ive got a Clarion single slot CD unit I took out of a MY96 because I thought it had a problem. Fitted new £300 flip front sony fancy thingy to find it was exactly the same, DOH!!

So Ive got this sat at home. You want me to take a piccy? It was in the car when we bought it in Sept 2000, and came out about 6 weeks ago. Its not in brill nick, but its got removable face and works fine. Can change the display colour to make it Orange or green, and a few other things. Ive not got any instructions for it, or a box.

How much do you want for it?

I bought a secondhand midrange Kenwood flip front CD player a couple of months back for £60 incl p&p. That had the box and instructions and is in fairly good condition.

Was hoping for less than that considering the latest models are only £100 new.

I'll give you £40 if you post it. Final offer because Clarion aren't my favorite stereos.

P.S.
That isn't a crack is it, in the middle across the CD insertion point.

no its a small scratch, not a crack.

I'll check postage costs (I'd send it recorded obviously - dont want it going astray or into a post office van!) and get back to you later today. OK?

Paul.

Ok.

You shouldn't really give out your address. I've taken the details down and suggest you edit your message to remove it.

YHM re: my address

I will post a cheque tonight.

Have no fear, Im not concerned anyone is going to travel all this way because Ive got a spare head unit.

Ive never really understood the paranoia about things like that ie addresses, but as youve got it it doesnt need to stay up there.

I went to meet a chap at his house last week who Id met for less than 10 minutes. I COULD have been an axe wielding maniac, or HE could have..but guess what? We weren't. Just two blokes with a similar interest in some things.

Anyway its at work, not at home, so they cant pinch it

It wasn't the stereo I was concerned about.

Like you say it was at work with you, but that probably indicates that no-one is at home with your tv,video,dvd,hi-fi,sofa,... get the picture.

You never know what criminals read bulletin boards and forums.
