Car detailing kit
Hi all, I'm wanting to give the scoobs paintwork a bit of tlc, there are so many products on the market and knowing very little about it I'm not sure exactly what to buy so I've seen a kit on ebay which maybe what I need to start off. I know the polisher is recommend by many on here but would welcome your thoughts on the products that come with it and value for money?? Linky below and thanks in advance.

It's quite a comprehensive kit and would be a good starter kit as it's got very good compounds and polishes as I rate the Meguires products highly, and the wooly mammoth drying towel is superb as is the dodo juice wax's plus you get to have a choice which one,you could source your own products if you were a seasoned detailer but for a starter kit it seems pretty good value.SJ.

I would recommend Meguires ultimate compound
It's what I used when I did mine last year, easy to use and one of the least aggressive compounds to correct swirl and minor scratches. And a reasonable price about £12
If you work it in well you will be surprised on what a difference it will make to the condition of the paintwork. I would recommend to use Auto Finesse Tough Coat as your LSP, this gives fantastic results on a white car.

Jay,dont buy the machine polisher,I,ve got one you can borrow then you can be more selective with the products you buy rather than buy the bundle. The hatch is done on a regular basis so no need to rush it back

Thanks for the info Lee but LSP is lost on me at the mo I think some reading up is in order
Andy thank you for your kind offer but I would buy my own as knowing my luck it would go pop when in my possession and would have to buy you a replacement, we're thinking of buying a new car at some point in the future so it will be handy for that also.
I already have one but it's more of a heavy duty body shop polisher so not ideal for detailing.

LSP (last stage protection) basically down to if you use wax or sealant
Wax will give you water beading, sealant will give you water sheeting, I personally like the sealant really easy to apply and remove.
Get on to www.detailingworld.co.uk
More information than you will ever need Jay..

Thanks Lee, I've been on Polished Bliss's website and reading up on there and starting to pick things up including what LSP now means! Looking forward to getting started as soon as I buy the kit

I've read very good feedback about them and they recommend the Werkstat Acrylic kit for LSP on white cars so I think I'll give that a go. Have you used this???

I was originally going for the Werkstat Acrylic kit last year but it was out of stock, they suggested going with the Auto Finesse Tough coat system which gives similar results and also works well with white cars. And I am over the moon with the results.
I will try the Werkstat system next though..!! This product is well recomended
