Right guys went to see an rb5 earlier (54), I currently still have my v8sti which I'm prepping up ready for selling as I've not really gelled with it and want to free up some dosh but still have something fun for the weekend,

Does anyone know this rb5
Took it for a run and drove well, few concerns though were that it would need two new front tyres,
The psi3 data monitor turns on then switches itself off after a few seconds, this occurred after the chap changed the stereo!!
Rust on one arch which wasn't bad and have had the same issue on a classic I've previously owned
Had an engine rebuild by API but the receipt doesn't mention what bearings were used etc, may not be forged!!

Just wondering if any one has some views on this, he mentioned a price he would be happy with but I'm in two minds

Was one of the better ones back when steve had it. Pop on the rb5oc and scroll back a couple of years in the cars for sale.

Spoke with API this morning, thanks to the chap who dealt with me and gave me all the info of the work that was carried out on it,

Looks however that it may sell this afternoon, didn't want to part with the cash last night as the light was fading and I was battling with the light,
I think it's a good car, although it drove well it did hesitate once when on full boost in 4th gear plus it's overdue a service, may have a second look if it doesn't sell

This car has been on eBay a few times in the past three months. I was tempted by it but was put off by the rusty arch knowing full well it would be far worse below the surface.

The rust doesn't put me off in the slightest, had the same issue with a previous classic and the repair work was excellent, seems to be just on the surface aswell.

Hadn't noticed that, the winning bidder pulled out by the looks of it then, the biggest concerns for me was the one hesitation and the overdue service, if it doesn't sell today may take another look in more depth

The hesitation could be something as simple as a knock sensor going, knackered plug but as serious as a new build. The PSI3 Monitor may just be a loose plug into the OBD socket.

Even though the rust patch is small and you know the problem I would still be put off or would want a substantial reduction in price. These cars are now 15/16 years old, the rust won't go away and the problems are getting worse with age.

My initial instincts were not too part with any cash so maybe I should just stick to those and wait for something else, still need to sell a blob sti after all !
