"Christmas Is Not Just For Kids" Rally Run 29th December, Pembrey.
After much deliberation we are arranging a run out & Xmas get together on the 29th December.
"Christmas Is Not Just For Kids" will be at the current 'Home Of Welsh Motorsport - Pembrey Circuit, to enjoy the Xmas Tarmac Stages Rally.
Entry to the Event is just £10 per car. The usual array of old & new cars will be competing including a few Subaru's as well as the still glorious sight & sounds of fully sideways Escorts (Peter Lloyd sideways is a sight to see).
For those that have never been before the Rally is made up of part tarmac & part broken up airfield surfaces and unlike many rallying events the 'lay of the land' offers good sight of most the action (opposed to seeing one corner in a wood etc). For the old and infirm the relative luxury of toilets & coffee are also available!
We will post a time (expect early morning) and local meeting point (which i've been told must include breakfast) etc for the event shortly, we also hope to arrange a reserved parking area.
For the fuel concious there are a few Shell stations nearby (use http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products-...n-locator.html)
With regards to 'the run', with everyone coming from various directions we have opted to let individuals that live fairly close to arrange/hatch their own route and get together with people local to them. For example the normal route for me (Chepstow) would be to head along the M4, but I will be cutting up over Abergavenny & heading over the heads of the valleys & dropping down towards Neath & meeting up with others along the way. So our group will grow along the route.
If its not for you (or you would rather go to the sales) we wish you all a Merry Christmas
If interested please put your name and home location below (to help arrange any route convoys via PM).

Yep bring some wet weather clothing in case its raining and windy guys. In late December i'd maybe suggest a hat & gloves (two hats for KJD Mk1)
Pembrey is a little known meterological phenomenon as at many other exposed areas of the UK when its wazzing down and windy you can actually bask in the sun!
Seriously all, wet weather gear would be advised just in case.

Details! Sun 29th: Xmas Tarmac Rally Stages, Pembrey Circuit.
Start time is 9:00am (course car inspection)
End time as approx. 3:30 (no one is required to stay till the end, so just come for a few hours in the morning if you like?)
Event is run by Carmarthen Motor Club
Full food/bar facilities are available on-site
Getting there: Pembrey Circuit is 10 miles from Junction 48 of M4 motorway and 4 miles from Burry Port, simply follow the brown Chequered Flag signs. For SATNAV users its SA16 0HZ
Parking: General parking is available within the circuit grounds. ‘If’ we have ‘reasonable definite numbers’ they 'could' arrange a coned off area for us.
Meeting: For those that would like to meet before making their way to the Circuit I suggest we meet between 8:00 - 8:30 at MacDonalds, Penllergaer Services M4 (Junct 47), Satnav SA4 1GT.
If you just want to make your own way there I would suggest that all seriously interested parties PM me their names and mobile numbers. I will distribute a full list to all a day or so before the Event. That way whatever time anyone arrives they will be able to find the Clan.
The paddock is easily accessible for anyone wanting to watch teams working on their vehicles. Spectators have a good vantage point from anywhere around the circuit and can get quite close to the action. For those worried about getting their hair wet (Kev excluded) its wise you take a brolly. For the old/infirm (Kev included) you could even stay in your car and watch the racing from one of the banks around the perimeter of the track.
I await an entry list of Carmarthen MC which I will post as soon as I get it, but expect a good array of club rallying cars such as classic RWD Escorts/Manta, FWD ‘all sorts’, AWD Scoobys/Evo’s/Cossie’s
Various videos are all over YouTube etc but..
if you fancy seeing what Stage 1 is like in a Subaru watch this one
general vids
