Ian, think the other car that you have posted on in for the for sale section I`d go for, but just to add a little spice to the mix sent you a Pm with a link to something a little different.

A nice car but I think it's over priced to be honest.

I've looked at this one a few times Ian and from the pics it does look a nice, straight car, there does seem to be some paint flake on the arch seam?? As you can see in the pic. Would be nice to see some under bonnet pics too.
As you know it's always best to view a car and it's local so no to bad if it's not what your looking for. As for price maybe he's priced it as such so he's open to offers the same I do because you always know someone's going to chip you down.
For me though the RA you pm'd about is a cracker and he's open to offers so I know what I'd go for as this was my first taste of Subaru ownership and loved it Hope this helps a little.

I'd prefer the WRX RA if the choice were mine.

Don't like it Ian When you think for a grand more you could tempt my V2 classic with all the toys and a 6 speed

Is the RA that V3 one I've seen ?

Your classic is very nice indeed and would be one to buy for sure as it's fully loaded and super clean

Think id also be all over the RA aswell.

The only thing would be would a wrx ra be as desireable as an STI ra will be in years to come (IF classics appreciate in value) . Were there as many wrx ra's made as Sti ra's?

Nonetheless, the ra looks a very clean straight car, with a genuine reason for sale, a very well written advert, and certainly would be worth the money or close to what the gentleman is asking. Its also in the best colour too!

Just my 2p worth.

I wouldn't worry to much about it ian,
It was over priced and from the pictures it looks like a little rust was coming in the rear arches.

The RA is a much nicer car than that V4

I never realised just how different driving an RA was and I've really only driven mine to RallyDay and that was all steady off boost driving but what a difference.

I seen it when I was Pistonheads earlier, I was thinking of dropping The Trooper a pm so he could ask some more questions Looks as if he didn't get the full asking price after all.

Just seems a little strange that the car is back up for sale, why can`t people just be straight instead of trying to be clever as someone will always catch you out.

He's after a radiator in the wanted section for a 1997 STI, he says it's for his Dads car
After reading he's sold his car for the full asking price and clearly he hasn't I wonder if a s/h rad is for his and doesn't want to spend the doller on a new one?? I know if I was in the market for a nice classic, which I'm not from what I've read it would put me off tbh, I'm sure his car will sell as it does look half about but not what he's asking for it though. If I thought I'd get 4k for mine as it stands then I'd be tempted to let her go.

No mention of the head gasket replacement in the pistonheads ad. Who's going to drop a link on his original for sale thread?
