Craig, plenty of products to choose from, Meguiers to Auto Glym all do stuff, pretty much the same really.

Even Halfrauds do their own brand.

You can get the OE crackle paint.

Plenty on the bay and I think Taylor had his done recently with good results. Shame his car is now fubar'd!

There are far too many cases of powder coated inlet manifolds causing problems with unseen residue breaking off.

Also the higher temps used with the baking can have an adverse effect on the alloy on the inlet. Crackle paint is a far lower temperature.

Isn't there a "How to" thread on manifold painting on here somewhere ? Mine was standard metal - I scrubbed it with a toothbrush and degreaser/engine cleaner and put it in the dishwasher ! I painted with Halfrauds VHT - but it's the crackle paint you really want

Si, did mine ages ago with Red Smooth Hammerite Spray, paint stripper, wire brush and some aluminium primer. Looking at getting it crackled properly soon though.

The crackle paint is a really good finish I'd like to get some on mine one day - the VHT was OK although a little "in your face" being very Red ! I've also found that when cleaning off oily fingermarks etc - it would rub off

hi-jack !

is it possible to paint the manifold while fitted ? Im painting a few bits with VHT wrinkle red , but allough my manifold is in good nick , it would be nice to match it up. Im not mechanicaly capable , so was wondering if pipes , bolts etc could be masked off and still paint ok ? I wont get all parts painted , but the visable bits will surely be enough ?
